U.K. government: 'Categorically untrue' hybrids will be banned by 2040

A U.Okay. Department for Transport spokesperson denied Friday that the U.Okay. government was once poised to ban hybrid vehicles. Earlier Friday, the Financial Times reported that a plan banning plug-in hybrids such as the Toyota Prius was once within the works within the country. The file cited other folks briefed on the plan. "We do not comment on leaked draft documents. The Road to Zero Strategy is yet to be finalised and has not been agreed by Ministers," the spokesperson mentioned in emailed feedback to MarketWatch. "It is categorically untrue that Government is planning to ban the sale of hybrid cars in the UK by 2040."
