Trump, senator strike deal on legalized marijuana: Washington Post

President Donald Trump has promised Sen. Cory Gardner that he's going to toughen congressional efforts to protect states that experience legalized marijuana, the Washington Post experiences, defusing a standoff between the Colorado Republican and the management over Justice Department nominees. Gardner said in January he would block all DOJ nominations after Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a memo that heightened the prospect of a federal marijuana crackdown on states that had legalized it. Recreational marijuana has been prison in Colorado since 2014. Gardner said Trump informed him the marijuana trade in Colorado won't be focused, the Post wrote. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Gardner's remark was once correct and that Trump is "a firm believer" in states' rights.
