Under Armour discloses MyFitnessPal data breach

Under Armour Inc. UA, +1.13% stated late Thursday it has detected an information breach in MyFitnessPal consumer accounts. The breach didn't include government-issued identifiers, akin to Social Security numbers and driving force's license numbers, which the corporate does no longer accumulate from users, or credit-card information, which is processed separately, Under Armour stated. About 150 million consumer accounts had been affected, the corporate stated. "The investigation indicates that the affected information included usernames, email addresses, and hashed passwords -- the majority with the hashing function called bcrypt used to secure passwords," the corporate stated. Shares of Under Armour had been flat in late trading after ending the regular session up zero.1%.
